When I first joined here, I tried to get all the info I could get, which has been great, but getting some inconsistencies with information. When I found out my son's PIR date which is this Friday April 24th (super excited) I read to book at the Navy Lodge so your SR can come to the hotel so I did and advised his dad to as well, just now reading on the "All about PIR and what to expect" I just read they advise you NOT to stay at the Navy lodge or your sailor may need a chit (don't know what that is) or may not can come to the hotel at all.and starting to freak a little! What the story?? someone help me please!

We stayed at the navy lodge, and my son was able to come stay with us after graduation and all day Saturday. We heard Navy Gateway they couldn't stay because of some drinking or something, but we were very pleased staying at Navy Lodge

Thank you Nick's Mom, I sure hope so, I'm sure he's going to want to get out but also have some down time.

Forgot to tell you he will have to be back on base by a certain time. Will not be able to spend the night at the motel
Where is Navy Lodge? I'd your son in chicago? ?

The Navy Lodge is about 1.5 miles from RTC on Navy property but not on the base per se, i.e. not gated, easy access.

Nobody's kids are in Chicago. That's 40 miles south of Great Lakes.

I knew he would have to back in the evening, I just wanted to make sure he could come to the hotel if he just wanted to chill for awhile. Thanks, getting so very excited to see him! If I read correctly he will be dress blues for this Fridays PIR, correct?

I think they should be swapped over to dress whites now. My son graduated March 27th. They were in blues. I think they said they start blues in October and whites in April or May.

Great Lakes does not switch to whites until Monday, April 27th- so for this Friday's PIR you are correct, everyone will be in their dress blues. Have a wonderful time at PIR! :)

Thank you! I'm sure he will be handsome in either color. ;)
