I am so worried because I haven't received my son's form letter yet and this the beginning of his third week in boot camp. I've been crying everyday as I miss him so much and just hoping he will make it to the very end.

I didn't receive my son's until 3 weeks after he left.  Found out later that he was in Processing Hold (P-Hold) waiting for the remainder of his division to fill.  So don't be afraid something is wrong because that's what I was thinking.  If there's something wrong, that's when you hear from them! LOL  It's great to be connected here but when you start seeing everyone else that left around the same time getting letters and phone calls, it can scare you a little if you aren't getting them.  There is almost always a reason.  I didn't get the phone calls when the rest of his division did and that scared me, too. In that case the first time he was standing watch so he couldn't and the second time he was SIQ after having his wisdom teeth out. I know it's hard not having contact but this part of his journey will be over before you know it.  I can hardly believe my son will be in a year already next month!  Stay strong and have faith! :)

Thank you so much for your words and advice. I have been trying so hard to be strong. I just hope all is well with him. I will put my trust and faith that he will pull through these few more weeks soon enough. Thank you for your support!!!! This website has helped me.
We just got our son's form letter yesterday and he left for Bootcamp on May 19th. He had to wait a week before starting his P days. Hope you get your letter soon!! He is ship 2 div 936.
Hi, my son left for boot camp 5/11 and he is in Ship 3 Div 228. I am just concerned that I may not get the letter and won't be able to attend his graduation if I don't receive it. Also, I am not sure if I should book my flight if I don't get the info on time. That is just one of my greatest concerns.

He has been gone long enough that it should be ok to contact his recruiter to see if he/she has your son's information as far as ship/division and PIR date so you can start sending mail to your SR.  I caved in and called my son's and then received the letter the next day. Might be like washing your car and then it rains! LOL

I was able to find out what Ship/Div he is in and just recently received a "real" letter from him and he called me briefly just this past Sunday but I was not able to ask him about the Form Letter as the time spent on the call was very minimal.
