OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I am bursting at the seems with pride for Joseph; yet my heart breaks for me. I never knew my heart could feel so many emotions all at one time.  I can't wait to see the man he becomes!!!

Monroviaindianamom, counting Fridays until PIR may be easier on you than counting days. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC.

Awesome...what div is he in?

Still have not received the form letter--my son left on 6-23. Hope all is OK. I am really hoping it comes tomorrow as we want to send letters. Our mailman I am sure is really tired of seeing me waiting anxiously by the mailbox!

Hopefully, on Monday. There is no mail on the 3rd or 4th due to the holiday weekend.

Son left on June 23rd. Finally got the form letter today! Immediately mailed our son some letters that we had saved until we had his address. PIR is August 21.
Doesn't it feel good just to be able to send him mail? I think it makes me feel much better!!!

My son left on 6-24-15!  And I know exactly what you mean....excited, proud, heartbroken.  So bittersweet and so much to look forward to.

Welcome! I soooo know the feeling. Stay as busy as you can. It does get better. I started writing Joseph letters the day after he left. I numbered them so he would know the order. It made me feel better by writing him words of encouragement!

I have been doing the same thing...writing letters and numbering them :) Can't wait to have an address to send them to!

OMG! What a day! Not ONLY did I get the box, I got the letter too! My Son is ship 3, div 267!!! PIR is 8/21!!! ON CLOUD 9!

woohoo...still waiting on mine

missducky, Division 267 has PIR on 08/14/2015 NOT 08/21/2015. It is the first regular division of the 08/14/2015 TG. If you received a form letter with a PIR date of 08/21/2015 for Division 267, contact the PAO ASAP at rtc.pao@navy.mil. You could also call 847-688-2405, but with an email you have written confirmation.
