Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

He cannot take anything back to RTC, so you will need to mail his things to him. Yes, he needs to earn the privilege of wearing civilian clothes, it takes about two weeks or so. Plenty of time to get his address. Use the USPS, not a delivery service such as UPS or FedEx.
Maybe he has a buddy who is going to Florida also, but whose family will be at the airport, and perhaps they can at least bring his phone? If not, he can get a cheap burner phone to use until he can get his.

Hello thank u. I leave Saturday morning. I didnt know when his flight was even when we last spoke to him or in his letters. I will wait to send cause by time he goes thru phase 1 in A school and earned to wear his civies I would have had his address and been able to send him. He is in division 89. Idk of the meet and greet. What is that and when?

My son recently graduated from RTC and just finished his first week of indoctrination. It is correct that you have to earn privileges. My son is still in phrase one. while another sailor is already in phrase 3. Not sure how that happened. LOL. BC he is staying at Great Lakes for ASchool, (it took 5 hours for processing), he was able to have his civilian clothes, phone, computer, but only after he was finished with the ASChool processing. Hope that helps.

Y shouldn't I use UPS or fed ex for sending his things? Has there been a problem using them? I just want the best way of ensuring his stuff is received

The packages are still delivered to the mailroom and the sailor still has to go pick them up. Doesn't mean delivery to their room or directly to them, it is a security thing. Can't have delivery guys running around base.

Make sure he doesn't exceed the carry-on baggage......Pensacola has a great Mardi Gras Parade it is almost three hours long. Hope he gets to go. Have your some volunteer for the National Naval Aviation Museum at the NAS. My brother volunteer there also. The Blue Angeles start their practice schedule in March.
Okay many Sailors are not classing up for several days to weeks after their arrival . Many rates are backed up both classing-up and getting orders after graduation. I do wish him good luck.

They will be subject to earning learning liberty phases. During phase one, she will be required to wear her uniform everywhere, will need liberty buddies, and will have an earlier curfew. No alcohol whatsoever, even if she is of age. I believe phase one can go off base on weekends, but policy is always subject to change, so always ask your sailor. They will be briefed.
Although I have read that phase one can't leave base, so I am still looking for an official source online.
