Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M & USS Harry S. Truman Group"

Hello "N4M & USS Harry S. Truman Group" Family, My name is Carrie (Georgia) I sign-up for N4M in 2010 while my Sailor was in Boot camp. I enjoy reading all of the blogs, before this I was not into any kind of social media but this website and the USS Harry S. Truman group (just join yesterday) has helped me feel better with my sailor out at sea. I was a little stressed like some of the other moms/dads but knowing I am not alone helps me deal with his deployment.

Proud Mom

So proud of my child, for choosing the NAVY. This will be a journey like no other. My child lives about 2 hours a way and we do not get much time together. So as boot camp is in a few months I am trying my best to cram in as much together time as I can get.

My son leaves on Feb 5 for boot camp

I have known this day was coming and have been mentally and physically preparing! Now they are forecasting a lot of snow to come on the day he goes so I will have to send him with his dad and a friend on the 1 1/2 hours drive to get him there in this 4-8 inches of snow they are forecasting. I was not prepared to say see ya later early! Why mother nature why? I know he will be fine, but I don't want to look like one of those parents who don't care! Melinda

3 Out-of 3

If there's ever such a thing as a Navy mom hitting the ultimate lowest point emotionally while her son is going through boot camp...I hit that point today. My cell phone carrier was having major issues which resulted in my phone only being able to receive text messages. No incoming or outgoing phone calls! During the entire time my phone was down, I had a horrific feeling in my gut that my son would try to call. Low and behold...that's exactly what happened. I received a text message from…
