My son had ordered his new patches, badges and ribbons online Monday, and they were delivered FedEx today!  So, off to the alterationist (is this a word?) to have them applied to his whites, then to the cleaners to have his uniform cleaned.  He should be all spiffy come Sunday night.  Can't wait to see him in his whites.

Also, didn't I say I would bring a 12-pack of hamburger buns?  I almost forgot about that - for the bar-b-q beef.  Do I still need to bring them?  Please let me know.  Still have to get the rest of the ingredients for the Oriental Chicken Salad, too - guess I will be cooking Saturday.

I think it was Auntie B's, you had posted photos and video right after the big dust storm.

Thanks Cindy, they're in!

GET THIS - the admiral is bringing HIS Navy mom to our party!!!  And a couple of cousins, too.   Oh - and his mom is bringing cookies.  Love it!

See you soon!

As I was scrolling up and reading everything I was getting ready to add, Please everyone bring your welcome banners!  There's a ton of love and pride in that photo, how very special :)  Barb, your cool website shows off your abilities very well - I wondered who was behind it - YOU are!

Thank you, everyone, for your wonderful comments!  I think Eric thinks I'm a little crazy at times when I tell him how proud of him I am.  I guess he just thinks he is doing his job - which he is, but like the rest of our sons and daughters in the armed services, they are certainly doing more than a 9-5 job.  I am so proud of all of them!

Thanks, Jane!  I do, too!  I am so proud of my son, and so happy he is home, even if he does have two years of shore duty now.  But I plan on visiting him - I could really use the cooler weather, especially after today!  Did you hear we hit 113 degrees!!  Ugh!

Marcy, did you say you wanted me to bring the banner with us on Sunday?  I can't remember.

Thanks, Barb!  I don't think I would have wanted the picture to be about 1 inch wide!  I think it turned out great!

Marcy, is it too late to email you a photo of my sailor for nametags??? If so, I certainly understand..no worries.

Regarding Anita's photo, since her original pic was at 300 dpi, I believe if she used the tool here and only changed the pixels, the pic would end up being about 1 inch wide! The resolution for needed to be 72 dpi. I think she's ready to post it now, so we should be seeing it soon!

(if anyone ever has any questions...PC related...photos or any other technical questions, I'm always happy to help. I do graphic design / web design, and am the family geek! )

This is a picture of my son Eric, along with his son Jayden, at Eric's Welcome Home party which we held at Barro's off the US 60 in Mesa.  Eric and Jayden hadn't seen each other since the end of January - they missed each other so much.  Eric will be joining me and my husband on August 7 - he is having his whites cleaned and patches and ribbons sewn on.  Can't wait to see him in his whites.

And thanks Barb and Marcy for your help in resizing this photo!
