Well, I'm stuck and totally bummed out. No luck in finding someone to take my place on pet sitting job tonight. Hubby is on a separate job as well. Summer months are crazy busy. Sorry...really not complaining...just wanted to be there tonight.

Marcy..I'll get with you later about Aug. 7.  Definitely have that date set aside!

Thanks for that Barb! A good thing to disable geotagging.  I don't post a lot of photos online but many do it constantly, especially of their kids; scary.  And always to keep checking FB to be sure security/privacy settings are on highest level.

I'm going to the BSM meeting tonight, wasn't sure before now that I could.  Lots been going on, so sorry I haven't been here as much!  Jane I'll bring some items about my sailor to share, too :)

And the time is drawing near for our party August 7th!  Tonight will be good to get together with everyone.  See you there!

Want to share this with you all. Very important info regarding pics taken with cell or smart phones that are posted online...they talk about the safety of our children and grandchildren, but this could apply to the entire military as well.

Marci, Jane, Cindy, Diane...Anyone going to the Blue Star Moms meeting Thursday night?
Comment by BADma on July 20, 2011 at 10:03am
jessesmom... First thank you for raising a selfless young man who is willing to go 'toe to toe' For our country. And you, mom...NO you are not losing it! My sailor  had PIR in Jan. and is now at sea...I cry daily!!I think the other moms have covered what I was gonna suggest.  You will LIVE for those mail days,as soon as your recruit can start writing home! I used to meet the hubmeister at the door and practically rip off his arm getting my letters. Stay with Navyformoms...the other boot camp moms will be going through the same emotions as you.

Jessesmom....The name of the group will be his PIR date.

Jessesmom...We all feel for you! I ditto everything Kathy said below. Just have one more suggestion. You will be getting a letter in the mail and it will have your son's Ship and Div. numbers in it, as well as his PIR (bootcamp graduation) date. When you get that, be sure to also join the Navy4Moms forum specifically for his Ship and Division. All the Moms/Wives will be going through exactly what you are going through and you will learn lots about bootcamp. You will all share those bootcamp milestones, especially when you get that "I'm a Sailor" phone call!
