Marcy...what do ya think...barbeque beef or mac & cheese for Aug. 7? Both usually are potluck hits. If I make barbeque beef, would someone else be willing to bring the buns?

Marcy, by now you should have received Eric's picture.  He helped me pick it out, and he told me he looks best in his whites.  I agree!

PollyAnna - yes, I am so happy to have Eric back here for awhile.  This Saturday he is going to Prescott to pick up his 4-year-old son and bring him down here for a week or so.  They haven't seen each other for over 6 months!  My daughter and I have gone to Prescott two or three times to see Jayden since Eric left - I took scads of photos and posted them on Facebook.  Eric loved seeing photos of his little boy.

I am looking foward to meeting all of you in 3 1/2 weeks.

Anita that's so cool!  Could you email me a photo of Eric for your name tag?

So excited!  My son is actually here at my house and will be spending about 1 1/2 weeks here and at his sisters in Queen Creek.  Eric said he would love to come to the Meet and Greet Potluck on August 7.  He will go back to San Diego to have his uniforms updated with his new rank patches, then come back for another week or so, and he will wear his whites to the pot luck to meet the admiral.  He is looking forward to it.  I still have to say something to my husband, but I am sure he will come if Eric and I do.  Marcy, I think you said you needed Eric's rank - it is AO2.  Was there anything else you needed to know?

I'll ask him  - he'll be here either tonight or tomorrow morning.  Eric's just so happy to be off the USS Ronald Reagan and playing "civilian" for thirty days, I can't guarantee.  But I would love to show him off and have him meet the admiral, too.

Thanks for posting the photo, Marcy.  Sorry I couldn't attend tonight, but I do plan on attending in August.  I'll check with my sailor Eric, who should still be in town on leave, and my husband to see if they will attend.  I will let you know soon.  Wonder if my son would like to meet the admiral.

And welcome to our Navy family, Jojo!  It's great to have a newbie in the group, we can enjoy PIR again vicariously through you and your son.

Too bad Diane left before we went upstairs and took the photo - but we'll get lots more at the party :)

I'm in North Phoenix by Greenway. And I-17m I'd love to attend a meeting on our side of town.

Wow that was so much fun!  (Not pictured-Diane/ThanksMom, who left early.) We took a tour of the Fine Gun Room where the August 7th party to meet the admiral will take place.  Barb, we're hoping for 40 or so to attend.  There are outlets or extension cords for crockpots. We've got four round tables that seat 10, with black tablecloths; and side tables for setting out our dishes, desserts and drinks (the restaurant is providing the ice).  If everyone attending will email me a photo of your sailor and his/her rate(job) I'll put together nametags for us.  It's shaping up to be a great event!

Anyone can put together a meet & greet, so please do!  This one's in Mesa because we're also putting together the August 7th Navy Moms event to meet the admiral that is being held at that location.  Can you come to the August 7th party?  It's on a Sunday.
