Stacey:  Yes - I just let them keep coming & check on them once a day or so.  Once our son is out of BC, I won't be following that anymore.  I was following the group for his A school, but that just got to be way too much.  You can still go in & check without getting an e-mail everytime someone makes a comment.

Well, my email was loaded up with comment notifications with every posting so I clicked on the stop following feature, I'm pretty sure that caused postings to not show at all.  Has anyone else had that problem?

Hi Jane, I think the only way I made it through BC is that my son attended Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, MO.  It is a military based College Prep and Jr. College so we have been through the separation anxiety once before.  I have been reminding myself that he is in a controlled environment and true harm will not come his way during BC or A school.  My heart goes out to the families of sons, daughters, husbands, wife's and siblings who are deployed, and I selfishly dread the day it's my sons turn, yet at the same time I'm proud that my son has the courage to defend his country.  Talk about two different types of emotions!  I've joined Blue Star and I'm excited to contribute how ever I can, I'm hoping the connection with other parents will keep me sane! LOL.  As for today, I'm going to occupy my thoughts by shopping for a new dress to wear to BC!  Have a great day everyone...my prayers are with all of our sailors and soldiers.

These discussions about BC and performing divisions...man I have chills! My AZ boy was in BC from Nov-Jan...he thought the change of seasons would be great. HA...long about mid Dec...he had ENOUGH of the cold. He was in a 900 division and carried the W.VA flag. His best bud in BC carried  the NH (my home state) flag. His PIR was 7Jan...it was COLD. The PIR just made me SO proud to be an American!!

His recruiter told me about this page..;.it was TOTALLY m lifeline .I have friends NOW that I met thru this site. I bet Chicago is pretty this time of year.

Hello Ladies, my son will graduate BC on Friday June 10th....what a journey this has been already! We have only received one phone call beside the 'i made it here' call. His letters have been great! He is doing awesome. His is in a 900 division and over Memorial Day they participated in a parade at Arlington Heights. He said it was 'AMAZING!' They marched 1.2 miles then escorted people carrying wreaths for fallen soldiers. He said 'an experience of a lifetime!' We actually saw some video with him escorting the person! That was so awesome us! His Battlestation is Sun-Mon so prayers are always appreciated! I love reading info on this page! Take care

We got our first letters today from our son in BC.  This is our 2nd time around.  He is part of a 900 division & in the color guard.  He will be carrying the US flag on the 100th anniversary PIR.  He will graduate the week after that.
