My son is still in school in San Diego he's Minesman, he left here last July for BC He will leave sometime bwtn April and Sept,on the USS Gladiator but my daughter who is JROTC are putting together these packages and the deadline is mid March so the packages will be filled.  We don't have names of Sailors or addresses so that why I reached out here for some guidance. I also posted this in other groups and Facebook looking for anything, Thanks

My son is getting ready to leave San Diego soon for deployment, my daughter and I along with her Navy JROTC have decided to put together 100 care packages by March, Great right? Until we found out it is 16.95 each to send them unless it's an APO/ FPO address anybody have any suggestions that might help?

hmmm I don't think it had anything to do with this group. You never know though. I know what you mean, it can feel like information overload when you are just getting started. I was on here reading for probably a month before I ever posted anything

Hi amandamomof4,

Thank you.  There was a car wash today, they were holding a Navy sign near the 101 and Bell.  Did that have anything to do with your group?  I saw the sign in passing and didn't stop.  Also, I think I joined that group too (bootcampmoms).  I feel like the robot from that movie "short Circuit" ..."need more input!" : )

Hi Az Moms,

I'm new to the group and to Az.  My daughter just left for Boot Camp on 16 Jan.  I was wondering if anyone else's SR left at that time and has a PIR date of 3/15/13?  ( I'm guessing the date for now..just doing the math).

Hi Everyone,

It's been a long time since I've been here. Great news, my son called Sunday morning and he passed his final oral board at Prototype in Balston Spa. It was two hours of oral testing. He is now a Nuclear Electronics Technician!

Always a mom - it gets easier. My son was in the Arabian gulf for 6 months back in FLA in December and heading back out in February for another six months. I send boxes every three weeks the are gone. I was able to get emails on a regular basis also find out if the ship has an ombudsman on Facebook. The one for my sons ship sends postings and pictures everyday while on deployment.
