Marcy...it may be buried now...previous post asking if there is a set "agenda"...only asked cause didn't think it would be good to be chewing and gulping while Admiral is talking....if he is going to be formally speaking.

And if so, what time for food to be served? Just planning...so I could get it hot!

Thanks again.

Marcy...thanks! I'm glad I asked.  I think I can still clean up pretty well! Lol.

Sorry to tell you Barb, but it's "business casual"...The admiral will be in his whites, as will our sailors, so we figure it's respectful of them to be in perhaps not our ball gowns, but nicely dressed :)

I just have my camera, but to record all his remarks would use it up too.  Anyone?

Okay ladies...big question:

Is tomorrow "casual dress" ?? I hope so! Call me a party pooper, but I soooo dislike getting dressed up anymore! Guess it's just old age setting in!

Does anyone have a camcorder/video recorder? Might be nice in case the Admiral has any encouraging words we might want to share with our sailors. I could use my camera's recording feature, but I think it would eat up the battery pretty quick.

Barb - I didn't know they do videos at PIR you could purchase.  But we are very happy with our "home-made" one.  My daughter was the keeper of the video camera, and she spotted Eric practically from the beginning, when they first come in, and she was able to follow his "route" most of the way.  She did a great job!

I doubt if I have made enough Oriental Chicken Salad to feed 50 people.  Not unless they take 1/2 cup servings!  The list keeps growing, and growing, and growing!  Will there be enough room, tables and chairs to accommodate everyone?  So looking forward to meeting everyone tomorrow.

Dang ladies...we might have to send out for pizza tomorrow! I will try to make enough mac & cheese for 50 people...say about a cup each...does that sound right to you all?

Anita,

I get sooooo excited just talking about PIR...ANY PIR !!!!

We also purchased the video they sell there. They do a great job and it's a great keepsake, but homemade videos are always the best!

Barb - I was wondering about the schedule for Sunday, too.  Thanks so much for asking.

Also, yes, I love looking at the pictures and video from PIR weekend.  I think Eric gets a little embarrassed when I talk about it, but, oh well!  I remember when my sister, niece, daughter and I went, Eric wasn't sure if we were there.  I was the first one down on the floor, heading toward where I had last seen him.  I finally saw him, with his head held high, scanning the crowd, with a very worried look on his face.  I called out to him, and when he saw me, he broke out into the biggest grin, hurried to me, and hugged me till I thought I'd pop!  He was so very happy to see all four of us.  We all then went into Chicago, had pizza at a wonderful pizza place, went shopping (and boy!  was it cold and snowing) and sight seeing.  We got some wonderful pictures then, too.  I love looking at them and reliving the weekend.  We flew home the next day, and he flew to Florida the day after that.  So, JoJo, make sure your cameras are charged and take LOTS of photos!

Marcy,

Just wondering... is there any "formal" schedule for Sunday? Will the Admiral be speaking first, then people eat? A particular time you want food ready to eat? Was just thinking it wouldn't be too courteous if people were chomping while he was / if he was speaking. Is he speaking...or just mixing??? Sorry for the questions!
