Jane, I had wanted to go on a Tiger Cruise and meet my son in Hawaii, but I couldn't talk anyone else into going with me.  :(  But, my husband and I finally made it to Maui (twice), so I don't feel so badly anymore.  My son would not have been able to keep me company had I gone, and I would have been on my own.  But it is a wonderful ship - every time I see it, I get goose bumps.

Oh, and by the way, I should have said "berthing" area - that's what I get for not paying total attention to what I am writing!

JoJo - a couple of years ago, I was privileged to be on the US Ronald Reagan (absolutely HUGH ship!) while it was in port.  They were having Friends and Family Day.  We were able to wonder the ship (within reason), and my son was able to give us tour and show us his birthing area, common areas, galleys, etc.  We also were able to go to the room where they honor President Ronald Reagan!   We had a wonderful time, and they even fed us.  I also went to Coronado several time to welcome Eric home.  Great experience!  Maybe some day you can do that on your son's ship.

So looking forward to this Sunday!

Also, unfortunately, I will be unable to attend the get-together at AJ's tonight.  Something has come up.  Hopefully next time.  Please keep me posted.

I had the nicest call from the admiral's mother this morning!!  She is so happy that her plans coincidentally had her coming here at the same time as our party (she lives in Georgia now).  She is bringing two guests and couldn't be happier, wanted to know what they could bring, etc.  All three of her sons are Navy; her late husband was a captain; and she has a niece who's an ensign and a Navy nurse.  Love our Navy family! ♥
