Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
We are in Great Lakes, for the long weekend. We checked our Sailor out Wednesday and don’t need to return him until tomorrow night. He has duty Sunday. We took him to my sisters for Thanksgiving dinner...my whole family lives close enough to Great Lakes so that was nice. We have had a few outings and lots of relaxing. We get to take him all the way home in just one month!

Good morning ladies!!! I’m enjoying hearing about your Thanksgiving celebrations. My Sailor and a buddy got “adopted” by a married Sailor and his family. He said they had a great time. This Navy family sure is something special. I hope you all have nice weekends...My Sailor will be home in 26 days, I am sooooo excited!!! We haven’t seen him since his Feb PIR and his siblings haven’t seen him in a year!!!

Thank You Allison, Me and My family had a Great Thanksgiving, I usually cook for the whole family there usually is around 20 of us, But yesterday I made an announcement that next year I will be taking a break from cooking Thanksgiving and would like for someone else to take a turn and I want to be the one invited, you could here crickets that's how quite it was. I am the only one who provides and cooks the meal for everyone and I want a break, it would be nice to be invited for once. So there were a lot of pouts but we shall see.

Phoenixmom I hope you had a great Thanksgiving as well, I bet it was wonderful to sit and Skype with your son! I picked up an extra shift in shipping last night to make some extra cash since my husband is away and they were short staffed, but it wasn't bad, our HR department ordered a bunch of food for us to have on our breaks and some people brought in leftovers from their thanksgiving dinners. My husband's section all made different things and had a friendsgiving in the lounge of their barracks, and he called me to help with the turnovers, so I did get to talk to him for a little bit Wednesday night, which is Thursday morning for him, and it sounds like things are going to be ready to go in just a couple weeks, so I have so much to do to get ready to leave! I do have to work this evening, but fortunately, the worst of Black Friday is over I think for my store because we opened at 6pm yesterday, so all the huge lines and customers racing around the store have passed.

Good Morning Ladies Happy Friday, Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was Great.

My Son and three other Sailors were adopted from a Family he said it was really nice and dinner was Great. Played games. Later in the evening they allowed him to use a Office and Skype with us which was really nice of them. He looks great Just cant wait to have him home for Christmas. I just wanted to pull him thru the screen and kiss and hug him. Hope all of you were able to speak or Skype with your Loved one. Well Ladies have a Great Day, I had to work today any of you working or having the day off?

I would Like to wish each and every one of you Wonderful Ladies a Happy Thanksgiving, I know some of us will be without our Beloved Son/Daughter but they themselves will be having a Great feast of their own on base. May the calls, letters and maybe even Skype come thru tomorrow.

What a beautiful prayer Phoenixmom 51, you are very welcome, we are all in this together, with our fears. I know the families are thankful for the prayers that we all will continue to send, for them and ourselves during this time and in future.

Thank You Butterball for acknowledging my uneasiness with this whole thing. I myself just have my faith to rely on that My Son will also emerge from this long Journey at Sea. I am just hoping that they (The Navy) can come to some conclusion as to why these things are Happening. It is very unsettling. A prayer for those Families in Waiting.

Father, we ask You to send Your peace to those Families who are awaiting word on their Loved Ones. Continue to surround them with family, friends and loved ones who will offer words of comfort.  Father, You are their stronghold. As they call on You, You have promised to answer. We believe that You will be with them during this period of uncertainty, rescue them from grief, honor them, and give them Your salvation. Amen!
