Lori, I think Brenden's plane leaves at about 1- 1:30 today. I didn't want to look at his tickets last night.

Maybe Anti M will be on AECF later and she can answer our question. I am sure Mary knows too. I bet she has been through this a lot.

Sandy- I tried googling this question but came up with nothing helpful. What time is Brenden is leaving?

I've checked the weather for GL and there is no snow expected so there shouldn't be any weather delays.

My Sailor son is going back to GL today. I am soooooooooooo sad.

Lori, I would like to know the same thing. I think it would be great if we could say goodbye at the Gate. I wonder how we would go about arranging this??

Last minute question- our son is leaving this afternoon to go back to GL [boo hoo] and I remember reading somewhere on here that we could go with him to the gate and not have to say good bye at the security line. Is this true at any airport? And how do we get a pass to do that? I want to see him for as long as possible. I've had to "share" him these last 2 weeks with his friends and this is MY time!

Tomarrow my son is also off to San Diego, done with A school, to get started as a QM. He is so looking foreward to getting started on a ship. We got lucky he will be some what close, plus I have family in SD, so it will be nice to visit him(them).

Thanks so much for all the help and info, between this group and our boot camp group 9-2-10, we were so informed on what to expect, and what was coming. Thanks again!

I just wanted to thank you for everything and all the support this group gave me and a special thank you to Anti M for sharing all of your wonderful knowledge with all of us!  My sailor is on to San Diego so I will no longer be in this group for A School.  Happy New Year!

Yes, you can, once he has earned his phase two liberty status.  That takes a couple weeks to a month.  He will find out his duty rotation, you don't want to choose a weekend he has duty.

sailorgirl, I was an ET.  He must complete the school to advance now. Because he is in a class, they will all advance after graduation (but in accordance with the Navy-wide advancement cycles), except for those who drop (fail).  So while it seems like a group thing, it is not.  It is an education thing.  He must pass his classes.

my boyfriend is in a school to become a electrical technician. but he says once he starts actual classes he cannot advance on his own. it's a group thing now. is that true?
