Sharon, I received flowers in the mail at Glakes. They were in a box and they were dead and black. The problem is that the delivery guy can't go to the ship, just to the gate.

MLQ-Orlando My son graduated on 11-5 and moved to A school on that Tuesday. Before we left we put all his things (laptop, cell phone, a few civilian clothes in a lock and go box. The folks there were really nice, it is a lady that is married to an RDC. My son had liberty on that Thursday and went by the box and picked his stuff up. It is right at the RTC and he was allowed all of his things. He can't wear his clothes yet but he could have them.

MLQ- your daughter will not be allowed to take anything with her after BC PIR.
But once she starts phase 2 all that should be allowed. Were you planning on sending all that is the mail?

Gary - yes I got it wrong she has done the rap duty and is waiting for the paperwork as she leaves her nv tomorrow for san diego reporting on saturday! and her ship may still be out at sea and then she may need move days! but her chief on board ship did not think that would be a problem!

And as far as the package thing i sent all my package to A school by usps and everything got there in 1-2 days everytime! and they were called to come and get the packages which were bought to her ship!

My daughter will be PIR 11/24 and will be moving into A school at GL but I am not sure how that works - I have read all the comments about cell phones and lockers so that is great - she has asked us to bring her camera also - does anyone know if that will be allowed at A school also?

I recommend sending mail with USPS. There is a post office on base and I think in every ship is a mail room as well. I don't know who staffs those. I have send three packages, insured the ones with the electronics in them. It makes no sense to send anything overnight. They will not get to them any faster, priority mail is there in 2 to 3 days. My son said, they are getting a mail call when something has arrived for them. I would talk to my section leader and see if he has connections to the other ship and can help
