Any faimlies with sailors on carriers? My son is just going to report to the Nimitz... just thought it would be nice to get to know other parents whose sailors are on them and how much contact do you get?

Hi there :) My husband is on the USS Harry S. Truman! Just left the USS John C. Stennis, he's been in the Navy almost 7 years!

Hi Gina! I'm fairly new to the group also. My son will be heading to the Truman in a few weeks. He is an AO.

Our daughter recently joined the Stennis.  Are there any other folks out there with family members on the Stennis?  We are new to this whole Navy experience!

Thanks Cindy for the info.  I wasn't sure if a carrier based overseas would have a TC like the US based carriers do.  I certainly hope there will be a TC at some point during Blake's attachment to the USS George Washington (Japan).

Suzann ~ that is truly a bummer that the Capt. didn't opt for the TC.  I would go on another TC no matter what season.  The Big E's TC was too much fun!  I hope you'll some day get to experience a TC.

I just returned from the Tiger Cruise (TC) aboard the USS Enterprise/CVN 65.  This was a historic TC because it was the final TC for the Big E.  After 51 years of faithful service (and 25 deployments) the grande dame will be decommissioned on December 1, 2012.

My son will be going to the USS George Washington some time in 2013.  Does anyone know if the GW has a TC?  I had so much fun on the Big E's TC that I want to do it again (to be able to spend time on a ship with my son).

Thanks!

Gina in Dallas
