Hi Pat, I'm pretty good.  How have you been?  Yes, he was a little disappointed, but he had also put Bremerton on his dream sheet, so he knew it could be a possibility too.  He is hoping that they may stop there while his sister is still there, but who knows?  My daughter will still be there with her bf until Aug.  I'm hoping that my husband and I can get back there before she leaves, but I don't know if it's possible.  How are your sailors doing?  You have two right?

Navywife, he only has "verbal" Orders now, so I know nothing is set in stone yet.  Thanks for the FB page.  I'll check it out.

Good Morning ladies, I am new to carrier moms.  My son, who is a CTT, just received his verbal Orders for the John C. Stennis out of Bremerton. WA.  Since I am a novice to the carrier world, I could use all the info I can get.  Can't wait to get to know you all.  I'm Betsy and I live in Maryland.  I also have a future son in law on the USS Key West sub in Pearl Harbor, so we are a big Navy family.

My son posted this on facebook today.  Thought I would share it with you.  If you are on the Norfolk group or IKE group you have already seen it sorry!!

A Sailors Christmas ~ Twas the night before Christmas, and he lived in a crowd, In a 40 man berthing, with shipmates so loud. I had come down the exhaust stack with presents to give, And to see just who in this rack did live. I looked all about, and a strange sight I did see, No tinsel, no presents, not even a tree. No stockings were hung, just boots close at hand, On the bulkhead hung pictures of far distant lands. He had medals and badges and awards of all kind, And a sobering thought came into my mind. For this place was different, it was so dark and dreary, I had found the home of a Sailor, this I could see clearly. The Sailor lay sleeping, silent and alone, Curled up in his rack, dreaming of home. The face was so gentle, the berthing in such good order, But not how I pictured a United States Sailor. Was this the hero whom I saw on TV? Defending his country so we all could be free? I realized the families that I've seen this night, Owed their lives to these Sailors who were willing to fight. Soon round the world, the children would play, And grownups would celebrate a new Christmas Day. They all enjoyed freedom each month of the year, Because of the Sailors, like the one lying here. I couldn't help but wonder how many lay alone, On a cold Christmas Eve, on a sea far from home. The very thought brought a tear to my eye, I dropped to my knees and started to cry. The sailor awakened and I heard a rough voice, "Santa, don't cry, for this life is my choice. Defend the seas this day, the peace do I keep." The sailor then rolled over and drifted to sleep, I couldn't control it, I continued to weep. I kept watch for hours so silent, so still, And we both shivered from the night's cold chill. I didn't want to leave on that cold, dark night, This guardian of honor so willing to fight. Then the Sailor rolled over and with a voice soft and pure, Whispered, "Carry on Santa, it's Christmas..All is Secure"

You know it would help if I would look up my daughter by her new last name. LOL.

Thanks Claudia.  I appreciate your help.  We will just talk to her when she calls. Does anyone have a system for calls home that works when your Sailor is in the gulf?  The time difference can make it difficult to talk sometimes.

Hi everyone, my daughter arrived earlier in the week to the Stennis.  She went from A school in Great Lakes to Washington state at Kitsap.  I don't know her address in Washington state.  Now that she is deployed on the Stennis, would anyone know where I might be able to find the right address?  I am hoping that she calls me so I can get it out in time for the holidays.  Any advice would be helpful!  Google is not helping that much in this instance.
