Any faimlies with sailors on carriers? My son is just going to report to the Nimitz... just thought it would be nice to get to know other parents whose sailors are on them and how much contact do you get?

I have lived in Washington all my life. We only get snow in January. Sometimes in December. The weather is wet but mild most of the time. My daughter really misses the rain.

My son was on the Stennis for 5 years and lived there as a single and as married.  I have been there three times.  I like Bremerton, the downtown is not much.  Once you get outside it looks like most anyplace with the strip malls.  If she is going to the Stennis, then it is deployed so she will be attached to Beach Detachment until they can get her to the ship.  Time varies, they are in the Sandbox, may take longer to get her there. Weather can be dreary sometimes.  They get some snow and ice occasionally during the winter.  For you to visit wouldn't be too bad; probably three hour flight from Texas.  What is her rate?  My son is an ABH.

Hi everyone :-) My daughter is joining the Stennis very soon as an Airman - undesignated.  I read through some of the comments here and NavyWife, can you post a link to the Facebook Family Readiness Group page?  I went there to search for it and there are several, I'm not sure which one is best/correct. ??  Thanks!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Emily, and my fiance is Aaron. He's a Nuke who just got orders to the Stennis! I'm so excited to meet new people as we start this new part of our Navy journey!
