Any faimlies with sailors on carriers? My son is just going to report to the Nimitz... just thought it would be nice to get to know other parents whose sailors are on them and how much contact do you get?

Sue, that is so wonderful! I too got teary eyed as I watched the clip. Unfortunatley, I do not have a talent like you and some of the other moms. I would though like to contribute to the cause. Please PM your address and I will happily contribute.

Hey Carrier moms, if you are on facebook, would you vote for me in a sewing contest on the J and O fabric site? A vote for me is a vote for the military. In the poll section, I am #R - pillowcases by Sue Lamberson. on page 9 of photos you can see the pcs that were entered. They went the Sept sailors in Guam.
thanks!

Definitely vote for Sue!! We don't want to dilute our Heads at Ease votes. I did not make any of the football pillowcases and I was only helping Sue to upload a picture. Turns out we both did.

Here is the link to vote:

yes, I've had that experience with my son. And he found out that HAE was doing the USS New York, he said "how'd you do that?" I said "I made a few phone calls". that's one of my "famous"lines. haha.

Today, I went to a navy recruiting office for some materials to give kids at a school that I am speaking at next Friday. anyway, the room was filled and when I walked in wearing my colorful fringed jacket I said "I'm here to join". Every head looked up. I laughed and said "I already joined". The head guy knows who
I am and mom has donated to HAE.
I got a box of Navy comic books and some really cool posters. These kids have been writing letters every week to the military and I include them in my pillowcase mailings. So I wanted to give alittle reward.
