Any faimlies with sailors on carriers? My son is just going to report to the Nimitz... just thought it would be nice to get to know other parents whose sailors are on them and how much contact do you get?

Hi Cindy, come and check out the Heads at Ease page and you'll find out about the pillowcase project.
We got our name 1 year ago today. And it all started over moldly peach muffins. I guess it's time to post that story.

If you sew, we can use the help. If you don't, we can still use the help. Check us out.

Marianne!!!! Awesome, your report is just awesome! I am glad that my advice helped and if I get to go again, I will travel lighter. I was really only cold the last night for some reason.

Marianne, I just got goosebumps for you! It's hard to believe that ours was just a year ago. Travel as light as you can. Don't forget your locks-bring 2. YOu will not need alot of money on the ship. take a camera. make sure your enclosed shoes are comfortable for walking and standing. take sweatpants for sleeping.
give your sailor a hug for me and HAVE FUN!
we sailed on Friday morning from Pearl Harbor pm 10-3 and got to San Diego about 10 am on Wed 10-8.

I took my carrier to school (I work in an after school care program) on the day my son flew into town for a visit. The kids, boys especially, really loved it. My son came that afternoon to help us make carriers out of recycled junk. It's about 3 feet long. I love it.
