Any faimlies with sailors on carriers? My son is just going to report to the Nimitz... just thought it would be nice to get to know other parents whose sailors are on them and how much contact do you get?

and yes, we had lots of rain overnight. I just opened my office shutters and there is even snow on the mountains. We have to have rain in Tucson to get snow on the mountains, where there is a ski valley.

Thanks Colorado etc- yesterday morning, our sunrise in Tucson was really red.
Rain was due in later that evening and I made the comment to my husband about a red sky in the morning meaning a storm, but was unsure. So thanks,
I will remember that from now on. Having a sailor makes it mean that much more.
that is nice of the UPS stores to do that.

I hear you Marianne and I kept telling myself that he wasn't in trouble. He was having marriage problems on his deployment and I was worried that he would reacting poorly to his crazy wife. He didn't!

Barbara, congrats on the new grandbaby! That must be awesome. I became a step-grandma at 28, but that's lots of years ago. I look forward to being a grandma some day.

and yes they did survive years ago, but then they didn't know better-right? That's how I justify my worries anyway lol.

Hey, does anyone know that all sailing saying about the red sky? in the morning or night?

Congratulations Barbara! I would so love to be a Grandma, my girls don't appear to be in any hurry, though.

didn't get to do a family day on the Lincoln, but my son is really assigned to a squadron etc etc. But they sound like fun!
Barbara-do you have the RA in your legs/knees. There is alot of climbing up and down the stairs. the racks were more comfortable than I thought. I'd talk to my doc before I ruled it out.
There was one lady with a huge leg brace on-my eyes about bugged out, cause I didn't think she could navigate the stairs, but she did.
Sha', they don't want relations on the ship-that's the offical word. no dark corners. ahah

I just heard from my son about money. He said there are money exchangers on the boat-you just pull from an atm and it automatically converts to the local currency. No problem, he said.
Ben's attached to an air squadron too and it's currently attached to the Lincoln,
so I imagine that he could change ships also.
Ben always catches it in San Diego though.

The Lincoln's homeport is in Everett WA.
