For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hello Ladies! I'm just stopping by to say that every time I see someone has posted, I'm checking it out. (I don't want any scared new mom just sitting at her computer without any support!) I've been mostly lurking...my son has been home for almost a year, and just got out of the Navy, so I really don't belong here. However, I find that your kids have become one of mine, and I can't leave this group in the middle of the story. LOL I have a feeling that I won't be completely gone until ALL our kids are back from there. I'm loving all the pics, but especially the homecomings. What JOY!!!
Lori, your good news brought happy tears to my eyes. I remember when you first got the news he was injured and you came and told us. He has come such a long way since then, and he is still in my prayers...as are all our kids.
Debby...That is a beautiful picture of your brother! I only wish he was in the airport returning, instead of leaving.

Just got word that my brother made it to the sandbox.. I know I didnt post when he left dealing with the normal tears that big sisters have when baby brothers leave.. I know he will be in a safer area than most since he is an MD but I still worry about him.. I posted on my facebook our family routine when you hold up 3 fingers it means I-love-you, the other person holds up 4 fingers I-love-you-too so Saturday when my brother left for Afganistan me and my son's each took a picture holding up 3 fingers and txt'd it to him before he left I'm attaching the picture he sent me back... I checked the name on his uniform even though it shows part of it .. dont think its enough to cause an issue since its a pretty long last name Hope the picture isnt to big!!!

When my son was talking about deploying again he said he didn't want to go in the winter, and I misunderstood and said I could understand not wanting to deploy again, yada yada...and he said "mom! I like deployment, there's always something to do...it's the f%^&$# COLD I HATE!!! I'm a Texan!" He firmly believes that south western natives should deploy in the summer heat and northern natives should deploy in the winter...
It does get too cold...head warmers, boot warmers, battery operated warmers of any type and lots of batteries.
