For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

This week was not a good week for them in Afg... My thoughts and prayers are going out to all the families that lost a loved one... Very sad..

My heart is breaking for those seals and their families. This is such devastating news that none of us should have to hear. My prayers are with all.
I have heard from my son via skype a short while ago and I hope all of you hear from your loved ones soon.

Prayers for these families, and for each of you until you hear from your loved one in Afganistan and know all the way through your body and heart that he/she is safe.
I am so sorry. And I know how afraid many of you are this morning, even if you know your sailor/marine/soldier is not in that area or in special ops. I am so sorry.

When we saw our son off we took more things BACK with us than we gave him to take. Apparently they're given newer deployment gear to take and the stuff they had during training they have to keep, so it's stored in tubs at our house until he returns.

Cheif - I had a friend of 15 years that at a party where everyone was talking about their kids ( that are in their late 20s and still living at home ) I started talking about mine..Hmmmmmm she told me it wasn't the time nor the place to talk about my son!!!! Huh, needless to say she isn't my friend any longer... I was told people don't want to hear about Afg.... Oh, well.. I live in Calif...And the county I live in is worse!!!
