I can see the cover of the book that we are all going to write together.  Picture of a snickers bar with a bit out of it and the title "gave themsleves to support so many" :)

I don't know a military mom in the whole world that supports war. No one in their right mind would or should...and certainly not those of us who have children who serve and in harm's way.

I think you are amazing women! Glad we can reach out to eachother and know we are not alone when we cry in Costco or the car, when our hearts are filled with pride and heart wrenching pain that no one else quite seems to get. When we think we see our son and remember it couldn't be him cause he is so far away. It is amazing to me how caring and tough and strong you all are - it helps me to be tough and strong for my son too. Thanks for being there all of you!

I really wasn't looking for applause, I just want to share that these feelings do not go away after you have a child deployed. I saw it in my own family and neighborhood, growing up in a military town with the Viet Nam war as part of our lives. Those moms always reached out to one another. It's easier for us today to reach out.

We did have fires just outside of my town of Austin, in Oak Hill, very close, lost 11 homes and many others damaged. Very scary to have them that close. Thank you for your thoughts!

It doesn't seem to go away, I have to say that....every kid that deploys takes a part of my heart, and your voices and fingertips every day just makes that life so real to me. I tell people, total strangers...I'm the admin on support board for moms with deployed kids....and I do it to see their faces...to see if they look away, or are they real people, who put their hand on my shoulder, or ask "what can I do?"....(wrong thing to say...cuz you know I tell them!!). And so many of my musician friends say "I've written a song,,," sure wish I could get those songs on one CD and donate the funds to a Wounded Warrior group....as well as get that music out there, so our military knows this country supports them, no matter anyone's view on war itself, our country supports our men and women in uniform.

whoohooo...kid calls!! I love them!! I got an Easter Basket! came home from work...basket with grass in it, snicker eggs, and a Dove choc rabbit...squeaky toy and dog chewies ( for Rosie, not for me!) I would love to say my son did all of this but I think the lovely girl he's dating had more to do with it...really. I went out this morning and hid all the snickers eggs for the kids in the neighborhood...but I did eat the rabbit. all of it. So here's the wish that you all have an extra special Easter next year...with that rabbit that is SOLID chocolate!

Dear TDM,Mike's Mom,Susan, Denise, Chief 88 , Much Trouble and anyone I forgot. I hope you had a wonderful Easter. I did. Got to tell a funny story. I was in the shower and when I got out I went to check my cell cause I wanted to charge it. There were 3 missed called. I am like wonder who that was. As I was seeing if a message was there the phone rang from say number. The man said. Where were you at church? I said I am sorry sir I believe you have the wrong number. He said MOM this is your son Ryan!! Oh my gosh. He was at a check point and said they had phones set up so if they were not checking vehicles they could make a call. Told me about his reenlist is the 28th and I said son I am behind you in whatever you decide. After much discussion we hung up and then of course I bawled my eyes out!! Happy late Easter to all of you and our soldiers and may God Bless and keep us all safe. I love you all!!
