For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Shout it from the roof tops. No OPSEC can stop me now. Our son returned last night from Afghan. I could not get my Iphone to work to tell you. Hours and hours of waiting, worth every minute. He was looking for us and then he said " I saw this pink tornado coming towards me through the crowd." Guess who? Mom, in her Devil Doc shirt. He said I about knocked him over. I did not care. Boots Down USA, ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a great Sunday. We are with him until Tuesday.

Pam...How wonderful! I agree you have a very thoughtful son. If you haven't already, bury your face in that soft mink and think of your "baby". (I bet he did the same before he sent it.) I love your map and postcard idea! It is a very personal way to decorate a room...that probably has many stories behind it.
I understand, that something like this probably got the eyes misty...but happy tears are SO much better than sad or fearful ones!

Well there's a story behind this and without saying where he is I'll skim over the top. My son is currently deployed to where his father was stationed 26 years ago. We had a mink blanket for years from that country. Loved it and our boys took many naps on that blanket when they were babies! We ended up getting rid of it because it had gotten moldy in storage when we moved to Georgia. My son bought him another one and sent it for him. How incredibly thoughtful and the look on my husbands face was priceless. He also sent a couple knick knacks from there and the one thing his Dad asks for EVERYTIME he goes somewhere... a postcard. LOL - it's never how are you son... it's always where's my postcard? We bought a world map when he left for the Navy and have kept all the different postcards tacked up on the map. So, no dirty laundry thank goodness.. haha, but it just makes me miss him SO much more! Thanks for letting me ramble ladies!

Lunchtime! Halfway through the day! I will def. post what it is - even if it's clean (dirty) laundry. LOL The hard part is going to be making my daughter (who will be home from her little cheerleading camp at 5:00) wait until Mom gets home. She's 7 so she loves packages - even stickers from Marlo Thomas! At least my day is flying by!
