While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

@ Kathyproudcorpsmanmom .... We sent our seabea something like a mini camping stove and the fuel was a mixture of propane and butane. We had no problem mailing it but when she got it her CO's ( I dont know who actually) let her use it once to heat something and then took it from her. What is a jetboil? I was told they are allowed microwaves. Hope this is of some help. I am still learning alot of things. :)

Paymaster that is beautiful and inspirational to us to use the time we can't sleep on doing something for others. When my son signed into the Navy it was right before Christmas two years ago and I had so much nervous energy....I made 26 pair of Bengals pajama pants for all my kids their spouses and all their kids. The people at work laughed at me. By the time I was half done, I could sew them without a pattern. And last summer while he was in the sandbox on deployment I was a gardner in the night. I thought I probably did scare my neighbors. You made me smile saying that on your post.

Wow Paymaster.....That is Beautiful!!!! My future D-in-L just had a wedding shower that I nor my side of the relatives could attend to, (out-of-state), and she had a sewing machine on her registry, so we all pitched in to get her that. We thought it would give her something to do while our son was deployed.

Finished a quilt for my youngest grandson to take to day care. I had made a quilt for him when he was born, but there were so many scrapes left I felt like I had more than enough to make another quilt. So I did. I used up all my mistake blocks and the left over scrapes. I figure it would be a great quilt for him to take to daycare when he goes, its one of a kind and I worked in his name when quilting it. Lets see someone take this quilt!
PS: This is also how I stay sane while/when my son is deployed to hot spots, I go in my sewing room and make something that someone else can use. I do a lot of sewing in the middle of the night when I can't sleep. I would garden but its really dark out during the middle of the night, plus the neighbors would really know how crazy I am:)
