For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

In the event of an emergency within the sailor’s family, where you feel the sailor must be notified and considered for Emergency Leave, you must notify the American Red Cross through the national headquarters in Washington, DC (1-877-272-7337) or via their website www.redcross.org.

Comment by Kat (MM Nuke) on May 5, 2011 at 6:35pm: Just drove my son's 1997 Ford Ranger to him from Phoenix, AZ to Goose Creek. No problems at all. It drove great. We made sure to get it in the shop before hand to have everything checked out. Dad put new breaks and tires on the front too. It has around 115k miles on it, so not bad. Road trips are great, especially when you get to go through an area you have never been. For my daughter and I, that was all the way from here to there. We loved stopping at Graceland and in Nashville. Have a fun trip.

Comment by Dana (David's Mom) on May 5, 2011 at 6:13pm: Last Feb. We drove my sons little car (8 years old) to GC from northern California (3000 miles). I knocked on wood before I left also. Was a fun trip and we got to see his A school graduation. We just got home from NY. Went to his Prototype Graduation, packed his 'stuff' and drove to near his new base in WA then home here to Calif. Good luck on your drive and enjoy your visit.

I will be driving his ten year old car about 1,000 miles to get there, so wish me luck Lol. The car still runs good though (knock on wood). This will be fun we have not seen him since December 12th. He will be about halfway through ET A school by the time we arrive.
