~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Diannep: yes my oldest is in A school at GL, the way the holidays and leave fell he is able to attend his brother's PIR. I am very disappointed in the change in guests as the younger brothers are not able to attend PIR, but at least they will get to see their 2nd big brother before he leaves for his school.
Well getting ready to leave for GL. Safe travels for those on their way to GL, and Yay! we get to tightly hug our new sailors :)
GroversMom: Loving your profile pik! How cute is that???
corbie: Sigh....hope you have a good day tomorrow! Is the one checking back into A School at GL and if so, can he attend PIR?
Congrats to the new sailors of 049-052. Glad some got to call!
Enjoy the MeetandGreets tonight....and be EARLY tomorrow for PIR...you won't regret it. In the car line around 6 or so....or on the earliest shuttle you can get from your hotel. We left our hotel at 6:30 and arrived at RTC at 6:40. No line at security...by the time we walked to PIR Hall, it had just opened a few minutes earlier so still had a good choice of seats.
AND.....here is a little peek at what you will see tomorrow:(only in Navy Blue uniforms, not White!)
Enjoy!
Hard to believe PIR is tomorrow! Bitter sweet for my family as we get to see our newest sailor graduate and my other sailor has to check back into A School this weekend kind of feel like I am going to be letting go of both of them again.
My sons father just called and said Div 052 will be at PIR tomorrow... Woohooo. At Courtyard waiting for Sarge's meet and greet.... Can't believe we are here... What a long drive..... Can't wait...
Hi All, Well my son flew back to school in Great Lakes today and I am so sad it is almost as bad as when he left for bootcamp. But I have to tell you something that warmed my heart today. I called him to make sure he made it back to base ( he was going to take a taxi to the train to base after the airport) So when I asked him how he got back, he said there was a couple at the airport who's son is graduating tomorrow and they offered him a ride, HOW WONDERFUL our navy family is!! He said their sons name was Blaze not sure but Just wanted to say thank you to them if they are on this site. And I wish the best to the new graduates and to all the families who's loved ones are graduating tomorrow. Feeling oh so grateful for a great navy community and oh so sad missing my sailor. God bless!!
