Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I am living tomorrow, I will arrive maybe a little late to the Sarge's. But see you there girl. I am surprised that you already there!!!!

Comment by Navymom111413 on January 8, 2014 at 6:33pm: I guess division's 059 & 060 will be going through BS21 tonight. So I won't know if my SR passed until we are already in GL tomorrow. I pray everything goes well for the divisions and everyone passes. I hate not knowing this close to PIR.

Comment by Linda B on January 8, 2014 at 6:28pm: Finally got the call! He sounded tired but good! Division 51 won Hall of Fame so they are in "Recruit Heaven" (Taco Bell and other fast food and video games etc.) He said that they won it for everyone in the division passing all of the tests with scores over 4.7%. Max score is a 5. He is staying in GL for A school and said that he gets an hour after graduation then needs to pack his room and take a bus to A school to check in which will take 3-5 hours. Then he can hang out for the rest of the day and into the night. Craving Christmas treats! haha. I guess I'll be baking tonight before our flight in the morning. Congratulations to all new and future Sailors!!!!

He is sooo tired and exhausted. that he didn't even tell me he passed until I had to ask. He will be the one holding the flag for his Div. so proud. We are flying out tomorrow from Ontario in the morning arriving at 6:30 at Midway can't make Sarge's Meeting. Flying out Saturday though so short of a time with them. Dang it, I forgot to ask if anyone from his division didn't make it. He said it's really cold for Californians, so I need to run to Big 5 to buy more warm clothes.

Comment by diannep on January 8, 2014 at 6:00pm: When we were at PIR hall for my son's PIR, we were the 2nd lowest numbered division. We walked the length of PIR hall and our division section was next to last.

I had thought it would be 057-060, but then again...having 909 go through tonight is really close to PIR and they must practice and be rested. So looks like the last 2 divisions will be finishing up in the morning.
