Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Looks like all of us have daughters on Ship 12 division 062

Wish they could meet each other. I will ask my daughter who her bunk mate is or any of the girls she has become friends with and I will relay that to u ladies and we will see if they know each other. :)

Hi, marmayes!  My daughter is also in Ship 12/Div 062! They might know each other!  She is going through the Nuke program, so you might be able to give me some great advice!

We got a letter today and I'm so excited!!! It was actually addressed to her older sister so I wanted to wait for her to get home.  We opened and read it together, and it's for me, too.  We couldn't stop crying because we were so happy to hear from her.  She didn't have long to write she said, and she was upset that I hadn't written to her ( I guess she hasn't gotten all of my letters yet. She said the food is pretty good, and she is becoming best friends with her bunkmate.  She wants us to send pictures, so she must be able to get them.  She seems a little depressed but is working through it.  I can tell she is homesick - she wants to hear about EVERYTHING that's going on. Gosh, I miss that girl so much!

For SR's of Ship 13 Div 067.

My 5th grade students and other 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classes from my school are writing Christmas/Holiday Cards for your division.  They will be in the mail next week.  There should be a card for every recruit in the division.  The kids are so excited about the project and the notes they are writing are so sweet and full of encouraging words.

Too funny, TxNavyDad!

SouthCarolinaProud: If she asked for it, she can have it.  They can keep the makeup to wear for pictures and PIR.  She will just have to put it away until then.

@diannep... Thank you ma'am... You think I type funny in here? Man you should have seen my typing in Facebook! When he's on the computer in the lounge, they can and yank them off the computer and you don't know it until my son doesn't respond anymore. Usually he has a couple of secs to say 'I GOTTA GO BY!" and that's that.. but you would be in tears if you saw all the typos and me trying to correct them, trying to type 90 wpm on an iPhone touch screen... ya .. that doesn't happen!! LOL

Hey everyone on here. Horrayyy I got a letter from my daughter today. Food is great, steel toes aren't lol; but the best news is that she is in Division Front!!!! Lola:  Blessings to you for raising your kids alone after the death of your husband.  I was in the same position back in 2001 when my husband died....my sons were 15 and 17...yikes!  I know you are doing a fabulous job!  And, yes, definitely an emotional rollercoaster...but WE ARE WOMEN, HEAR US ROAR!  :-)

TxNavyDad:  So great that he is doing so well...in spite of...!  Love the way you write....very entertaining!  I know that "typing" with him today made your day...and now....for another phone call soon!  Home for Christmas is wonderful!
