~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

LOL Bad typing too. It's my "SON". Not Soon.
jskmom: My soon also is going to Pensacola. He is going to be an Air Traffic Controller. I am hoping for a call today or tomorrow. I have no other children, so this is really hard for me. No letters yet either.
Sorry bad English. Should be "who has an SR". Typing on phone. Husband is on computer.
Hi everyone. Merry Christmas to all. Hope you are all doing well. I love hearing about the phone calls. I hope we get one too. Still waiting for the first letter. Is there anyone whose SR is going to be an Aviation Machinist Mate going to Pensacola? Would love to hear from you.
wow some of them are getting 50min to talk today, that's great
YES!!! Div 83 families are super happy today!!!
What a relief to talk to our son after the phone call Friday night, when he was so upset & then having the call drop after only 4 minutes. He was still all choked up at first, and of course when saying goodbye, that breaks my heart and I bawled when we hung up!!! But for the 50 minutes we got to talk, he sounded really good and was back to being eager & proud to tell us what he has accomplished so far, and what they're doing, what day they're on, what tests they've done, what food he's been eating, etc..., etc...!! Our youngest son was here, so they were happy to talk about game stuff - the smile on my youngest son's face was priceless!! The bummer though, my husband was at work, so he is really upset to have missed a call from his son. Sigh...
One thing to share, if they pass the test they're taking on Thursday with a 5.0 (get everything RIGHT) they will earn a 1 hour call home! I just pray if he gets it, that he can call at a time when his dad is home! I was teasing him that he needs to just take the next 5 1/2 weeks off work so he won't miss another call!
I won't clog up the page here with all the details, but if anyone wants the details for any reason, message me & let me know, I'm happy to share!!! (I'll be posting on my FB for family & friends to see, so I can easily do a copy & paste in a message here!!)
Lala, LOVE the Flat Stanley idea, one of my kids did that in gradeschool too!! Wish I had known that before today, would have taken it to the family get together we had yesterday, but we'll start tonight. I'll do anything to make our son laugh AND us too. So glad we celebrated Christmas together before he left though, because it doesn't feel like Christmas at all without him here. We'll go through the motions though...for our other kids' sake!!!
Merry Christmas everyone!!!!
how long are they allowed on the phone
