~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

nicksmom & missy: my son is in a different ship but said the same thing. That it is not hard to shut up & pay attention. He says they are always getting in trouble for the same thing. Hopefully the SRs will begin to work together. I am worried mine will lose his tongue, curse at them & get everyone in trouble!!

Comment by nicksmomSHIP03DIV091 on December 29, 2012 at 1:26pm

@missy-- my son sounded frustrated, he said they get yelled at for the same thing over and over again. He also said that the RDC's are actually nice when they aren't yelling at them. I hope you get a letter today.

Just received my first letter. He sounds good but did say he has 45 days left of BC and is going to push really hard to pass everything so that he can graduate on time. He said he has a lot of immature people in his division that get yelled at all the time. He also said the food was good. Great to hear from him. Can't wait for the next letter!

Good Morning Everyone!

Good Morning Ladies, I received a second letter yesterday, which after reading sounds like was the first letter written. He was still in P-days for most of it, and had said they expected to move the their ship on the 17th or 18th. The last half is dated the 20th, but he didn't put what training day it was and on the first letter I received which was dated the 23rd he didn't either. He said P-days were horrible. He is a Yeoman for his Div.. He said they should get to call home around the 8th of Jan, if they are not in trouble for something. fingers crossed for a phone call soon.

I got my first letter!!! Actually 2 in one envelope.  Didn't like his peanut butter shot.  Started training on the 27th.  He loves it and is enjoying his bunkmate.  Sounds like some bonds are forming.  Bunkmate is from Florida.  The guys next to him are from Michigan and North Carolina and someone from PA.  Hope everyone gets letters today!!  Maybe phone calls tomorrow.

Stevi:  Thinking that 095/096 may still be in the first training week, starting training week 2 next week sometime.  Remember, the training week count is different from bootcamp week count, which includes processing days so the week/day count is further along than the training week/day count.  Brother divisions are on the same week/day, but not all divisions are on the same week/day count.  The lower-numbered divisions are further along.  Highest-numbered are behind.  They will be the last to go through BattleStations, their final test.

Good morning everyone. Craig, I thought that I was done crying. Then I saw the Mark Twain piece. Thanks, lol.
