Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Comment by sailsetter on February 10, 2013 at 10:31am: Our sailors made it!!(I knew they would) and we made it!!(wasnt so sure at times) To hug my sailor again... that was priceless!!

My son volunteered for a two hour watch after PIR-which was thoughtful-, but it was increased to 4 hours the day of, time was very limited as he was flying out early yesterday.

On thursday, our plane was delayed 2 hours and all the planning i had done, making posters getting together kleenex packets, navy pens, bumper stickers window decals and lapel pins were for naught. We made it to Sarge's meet n greet about an hour late-no time to put up posters.

Ssaulter, Im so glad you called me. and Mcmom, it was nice to meet you. I ended up handing out kleenex before PIR while waiting for the shuttle and moms , sisters, gf and gramas were very appreciative.

mcmom, you got all weekend with your sailor? sigh.Im happy for you.enjoy!!

Just waiting to go to the airport to take him is things. :) Due to the weather I didn't get to Sarge's M&G until late and didn't get to meet any of you, so wanted to say thank you for all the support on here.

Thank you to all the Veteran Moms/Wives for your support and help through the past few months! I am sad that I haven't gotten to spend any time with the women I have "met" through here. This weather has just put a real damper on traveling and getting where we need to be. Thank You God for keeping us all safe! Enjoy the rest of your time with your new Sailors! Keep in touch!
