OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Ty'smom, I have gotten the information from his recruiter as well. He also told me that they are not in an integrated division, so it is an all male group. I am waiting on the letter as well :) Can't wait to here from him.

My son is on Ship 03 Div 091.  I received the box but have not gotten the letter yet. I got his address from the recruiter so hopefully it hasn't changed.   I am so looking forward to hearing from hear and how he is doing.

Hello everyone :) My son is ship 3 Div 091, just found out today. I got the box yesterday and wow I have never been so happy to get a pair of dirty pants as I did lol. Now I get to start stalking the mailman for my letter, Thank you to everyone here with all of the wealth of information. Has been much easier for me to read other's posts and understand what is going on. This site is truly wonderful for all new navy mom's. Thank You! :)

Hi everyone, does anyone have anyone graduating from division 092? Ship 3

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on December 18, 2012 at 1:37pm
I think the "1" is most likely an "I"...for Integrated Division.
Integrated means that it has males and females in the same division...housed separately of course.
So Melanie it is just 12/89 :-)
Comment by diannep on December 18, 2012 at 9:13am

melanie:  Hmmmm....not sure that 891 is the correct 800 number for this group?  Where did you get that number?  They go in consecutive order and the last group was up to 805....so thinking that it should be 806?  You may want to doublecheck that with the recruiter.  The division number is important when writing to your SR.

Welcome to all of you!

FTLW:  You are allowed to use the grown up computer in your house?  I'm jealous....  :-)

Good Morning Everyone.

I am another N4Moms veteran on here to help you all through bootcamp!  My son was up there this time 3 years ago.  I have been helping on the PIR groups since early 2010.  We have a great team of ladies (and Craig--who is a wealth of info as a retired sailor with a son/nephew in now) here, ready to help you in any way that we can.  Just ask!

FTLW will be posting info as bootcamp progresses.  So be watching for it under the MEMBERS photo box up top/right (will be a PAGES section eventually).  She will add the Discussion Forum at the top of this page eventually also.

In the meantime, we ask that when you find out the division number that your SR is in, through the recruiter or your form letter, feel free to add it to your username so that others can spot you and you them.  You can then "chat" on this page with others in that division....or even friend each other and private message things of a more personal nature.  Soon,  FTLW will provide division discussion groups for you in the Forum.  We ask that you please don't start a separate division discussion group on N4Moms outside of this page.  It is better to keep all contained on this PIR page and we will provide that.

Please know that it is forbidden on N4Moms to expose your sailors' last names.  That includes your username containing that last name, so please change it if you set it up that way.  This is for the safety of all of the future sailors and an OPSEC (security) rule.

Welcome to Navy Bootcamp!  It will be an adventure....sometimes emotionally draining, sometimes "on top of the world" for you!  Just hang on....we will help to guide you through.  Feb 8th will be here before you know it...and what an exciting day that will be!
