N4M's Community Guidelines

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

My son graduates A school Friday in San Anyonio and then gets to come home for 2 weeks! And then it's off to Nebraska!! Can you get any farther fron water ? lol Its only about a 6 or 7 hour ride from where Im at in Chicago!  I wish the best of luck to everyone and will never forget everyones kindness and support during those rough 2 months of boot camp.

Glad you son gets to come home on leave Sailsetter.  Our boy starts A School tomorrow at Charleston.  He's been down there for three weeks and likes it much better than GL.

Ive missed everyone!! so much is happening. Yay, his Keel book arrived and he is graduated from A school in Meridian MS and is home on leave.

can i ask.... how many parents/wives/girlfriends/sig others got welcome home banners for their Sailors first leave?

I had one up by the garage and my son took it down. :O( he didnt think that anyone else would have banners up. I doubt that highly.

NavyNucDad- Congratulations, that's great. My Sailor really likes it down in GC. It was another adjustment at first but he likes the , little bit , of independence that comes with A school. It's great to be able to speak with him too. We talk at least twice a week. Good luck. I look foward to reading about his journey to Nuke.

Our son finally cleared medical hold from the THU today and is shipping out tomorrow for Nuke School in Charleston.  And there is much rejoicing.  I didn't ask, but I woudln't be surprised if he was the last of our grad class to get on to A school.  If there's anyone still waiting for that, hang in there, and we'll pray for you.

We received the Keel book last week as well. Beautiful book, but disappointed that the pictures are all stock photos of older divisions, even the graduation ones. My sons division photos in the back are great though. Happy Easter all, and I hope everyone's Sailor are doing great in A-School.
