~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Thanks Sailsetter for clearing that up...:) Can't wait to decorate the door cover with my little ones (3 & 5). They are gonna have so much fun making this for their big brother!
Hoping for no news tomorrow from my SR which should mean he is on track to graduate with his Div...the one and only day I do not want a call! Praying his leg is feeling better and they let him join back in with everything! This is gonna be the longest 24 hours I have experienced in the past few months!
Thanks!!! I'm not sure why but it just makes me uncomfortable! I feel like they are going to "run" it into some type of machine and get everything they can (shes young so not much history........) but like all her medical info, shot record, date of birth, hospital born, city, phone number, address, ect............LOL
three4me - They don't take any info from the card it is only to identify her. You will just show it to Security so they can check her name off of the Access List. There isn't a photo on it so you having it or her having it and being with you verifies her as being who she is as well. You only need a copy of it...so you can keep the original with you.
Here is the "official" info from RTC as far as ID goes: (from the RTC website FAQ's -italics mine)
"...All guests 18 years and older, must present valid government issued photo identification (driver's license, state ID card, passport, military ID card). Guests 17 years or younger who do not possess one the items listed above must present one of the following: school ID card, driver's permit, copy of their birth certificate or social security card. PLEASE DO NOT CALL FOR ADDITIONAL SEATS."
Hello!!! So glad I found this group!!! I do have a question that has been bothering me. I know we have to have ID to enter for PIR. I have my DL but my lil one doesn't. I read where I can use either a birth certificate or SS card for her ID. I was just looking for her BC and can't find the origial or a copy. My husband believes he gave it the HR at work for putting her on his insurance. I won't be able to go to the heath dept. to get another one before we leave. Anyway, I am a bit uncomfortable giving them her SS card. Not sure why I feel this way. Does anyone know what information they will get from them??
You are very welcome, sailsetter!

ya!! Ks mom!!
and the hotel said they wouldnt put our names on the door themselves, but it is up to us if we want to include a name.
I just saw a mom was able to print her parking pass if any of you want to give it a try ;)
Sailsetter - thanks for posting this about decorating the door...I was going to put my son's name on ours...I guess I will rethink the way I am going to decorate or what I am going to say ;)
I called my hotel and they stated there are not congratulations balloon bouquets available through the hotel, (although i bet I could get one from a florist) and we are welcome to decorate our door to celebrate our Sailor, just better to not include name
