~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hi ladies! Sailsetter, I know what you mean about feeling a little lost now - lol Although, my toddlers have found ways to keep me occupied! I love that my son is accessible now - FINALLY! He got his phone stolen over the weekend though :/ Thinks it was a Marine that was with him and some others that day - I was very upset for him and the fact that it was stolen period - brand new phone he had only had for maybe 3 or 4 days. I had told him before to make sure he keeps his stuff locked up but I guess his phone wasn't one of those things he thought someone might take. Well, lesson learned! He was able to get his old phone turned on in its place so praying he doesn't have any more issues!
I feel such a loss at not being on n4ms as much as in the past 2 months. Im trying to remember the other things that occupied my time before.
My3sons he is in meridian mississippi in the marine dorm (with 2 other navy guys) waiting to class up. he is an airman (AZ) it is an admin job for airplane maint. Im so glad your package made it to GL. Its such a relief isnt it.
It is SO nice to be able to talk with my sailor!! He did get the first package. He is waiting to class up. had thought it would be toward the end of the month, but that class is already filled so he waiting for the next one. He doesnt have classes right now, but he is required to do book reports he said. He is in the marine section with 2 navy roommates and they do pt with the marines.
Good Morning Ladies, I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying being able to talk to their Sailor's, I know I am. My son is in SA for A School and I sent him a package on Tuesday Priority mail. It is scheduled to arrive today but could be tomorrow. I have read stories about the mail service on base so I have my fingers crossed that he will get it with no problem. I will let you know how it goes. :)
the first package took 7 business days and the second package 3 business days from portland oregon to meridian mississippi
I sent a really nice "would you be open to helping me locate these packages" and the postmaster called me and updated the delivery. My sailor should be getting the packages today. Im so grateful!!
Ok, this is weird.... the second package I sent already has additional tracking check ins/outs.
I second that my3sons!!
It was concerning that the package didnt have any additional tracking after portland. oregon on the 13th. It seems like there should have been some tracking point since then. I think im more concerned about the usps check in, less concerned about the base.and oh, i bet those cookies i threw in taste really good by now. :O) I sent another package of books that he requested yesterday... lets see which one gets there first. Oh well.
