Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

How are you?

what is your RCD like?

how many flags has your div won?

has your div designed your flag yet?

what is your DOT

what do you think about your navy clothes and boots.

are you getting enough/too much mail

what is your favorite at BC?/least fav?

are you on the top or bottom bunk, is the mattress comfortable? are you getting much sleep?

what are you missing most from home?

is there anything we should bring with us to PIR weekend?

who are your friends?

what is guard duty like?

do you like you job, what does it entail?

have you had pictures taken?

how many in your div?

what have you heard about A school?

do you like when i include (bible verses and military humor pics/jokes) in the letters?

jennlusherfrenchy: Click on the link above and it will take you to your discussion group up top. You will get to meet the ladies there who have SRs with yours. Please remember that we cannot post SRs' last names on this site (nor on FB). But you can ask if any are from a particular city because your SR has a shipmate friend from there and see if that SR's family member is on here by private message.

I'm happy for him. Mabey if I could find their family's. We could all be firends :)
