I just found out there have been changes to the Family Guide put out by RTC.

One thing I noticed is this:

"Recruits must remain in uniform at all times in public."

Has been changed too:

"Recruits must remain in uniform at all times."

So, it is looking like no civilian clothes are allowed at all.

The Guide has gone from 6 pages to three...bare bones basics. THERE IS NOTHING DRASTIC SO FAR IN THE CHANGES THAT I HAVE SEEN...JUST SIMPLE THINGS LIKE THE ABOVE.

They got rid of the term Grad n Go several months back and went to Friday and Saturday Departures...now THAT is gone too. There is NO title and they just talk about Departing Recruit Training Command after PAss-in-Review and explain the diferences.

I will be updating my posts later today and I will also be printing up copies of the old and new to compare the changes in info. I will do the posts and links first...the link to the old Family Guide does not work.

Thank you for your patience!

From the "Letter Writing" Discussion up above:

Recruits receive mail every day (except Sundays and holidays, just like the rest of us). They begin getting mail as soon as their Mail Petty Officer (the recruit assigned to collect and distribute mail), is trained. Because the mail is controlled by federal law, the MPO must complete a federal training course before s/he can handle the mail. Sometimes this takes a couple of weeks, but not usually more than three.

Oops...forgot to say we only need one discussion per division.

MEJ can we delete yours as bahkmom started hers first.?

Just go up to Options and you can delete the discussion from there...or I can delete it. Thanks!

@ bahkmom09/86   I sure hope so. This is just such a new world. I hope I do as well as our recruit. :)

I would think we could start expecting letters next week.  They will probably have time to write this Sunday.  I would really start checking mailboxes by Wed!

It's coming Harpist mom, I promise.

I just checked the mail, and there was no letter today.  :-(

Looking forward to meeting you too, SailorJsMom!
