They usually don't receive their mail until the 2nd Sunday they have been up there.  So, any mail arriving before then will be kept there until it is distributed to the SRs on their first mail day.  They get it regularly after that.

You are correct Demetris and I shouldn't have used "held" when rwferingbtibtje MRPO either...just that that is part if the reason it takes time.
Comment by Demetris on January 27, 2012 at 4:35pm

Lala they don't hold mail. That is against the law....They will look the recruit up on the master alpha roster and get the mail to them.

Comment by Demetris on January 27, 2012 at 4:33pm

No their mail does not get opened.  But if the RDC suspects candy or something in the letter or package they will have the recruit open it in front of them.  Depending on the RDCs sometimes they will hold snacks and lock them up for later in training, however some RDCs will make the recruit throw out the snacks in front of them. My advice...don't send snacks until after week 6...

Does their mail get opened? I want to send my SR some jokes but I dont want something I send to get him in trouble. They are mostly Military jokes and I got them off of a link posted in the discussions but still I dont want to be the horrible GF that causes him trouble. I have heard horror stories about SR's having to do extra pt or sing to music cards or read their letters outloud b/c of items that have been sent to them from loved ones. My SR is in 04/807 - do the special warfare divisions have different regulations at all?

How to add a Discussion

Hello Everyone!

I am going to invite you to start your Divisional Discussions in the Discussion Forum area.

How to add a Discussion - Go to the bottom left corner of the DF area (It's actually just above the comment box here.) and click "Add a Discussion".

Fill in the Title and any description you like.

For DIV discussion Titles a suggestion would be:

SHIP ##/ DIV ###

Click “Add Discussion” at the bottom right.

Simple as that! Then the other members from your div can reply and you can connect up even closer there.

Remember that you are ALL part of this TG though and to stay on the main pages to talk here too! Plus, we veteran moms mostly stay on the main pages of the groups. There are 7-8 PIR groups running at one time and so we do not get to the DF's as much. We do check them as often as we can...OPSEC rules apply there also.

- The Discussion Forum area will only show twenty titles at a time. It is also set to show the "latest activity". So whatever has just had a reply added to it will "bump" up to the top. Whatever is at the bottom will disappear. So, if you want to see more click, "view all" at the bottom right hand corner of the discussion forum area. It is right up there above the Blue Comment Wall bar.

To "bump" up a discussion to the first spot of the DF area when you don't really want to add a reply...in other words someone is looking for it...just type whatever you want in the reply box and click "add reply". I just type one letter and add the reply. Then get rid of it by clicking the "x" in the top right hand corner. The discussion will stay up there at the top without your reply. It's because it has had "activity".

When you view a DF the first post ever made will be the first page. To get to the most current reply, click “Last Reply”.

You will notice that in the top right corner in any post that you do you will see an "x". This is so you may delete your post if you need too. You will also see the “x” on any post you make anywhere else on the site.
