WOW it sounds so amazing. I'm getting so excited already. Like a kid getting ready to go to the carnival lol.

The 900 divisions don't march out like the others, they come in from all different areas depending on what they are doing. That division also has the flag corp. They are all pretty amazing :-) My daughter was in the choir, right up front and center. They also perform at a couple of PIR's before their own so you have a good chance of getting a pic of them before their PIR :-)

..."something reassuring."

Did you laugh?!?! You're supposed to laugh!

J/K...couldn't resist...Here is a big ole hug for you ChipsAhoy!

Cute smileys hug

...and a cookie......because I LOVE your username (I promise I'll only do that once!)

Hang in there! ...what Jessica said...do you think he donated his clothes?

I am in your neck of the woods (as far as the west coast)...took a week at least and 11 days for the form letter. The 16th was a Federal Holiday...sometimes that domino effects the mail for a while.

So fireteamleaderwife does that mean that she will come out with the performing groups and not like the rest. Just trying to get an idea and understnading of all of this

Comment by brooklynsmom(div919PIR 03/16/12) on January 25, 2012 at 7:58pm

Lala I sure I'll write and ask her in tonight's letter. It is a shame that some recruits wont get mail, and I'll be glad to share anything that I find out.

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on January 25, 2012 at 7:45pm

brooklynsmom - Please read this discussion Ship/Div How it Works. It talks in detail about it.

Basically 900 divisions are the performing divisions...also called "Triple Threat"...Drill, Choir and Band. (These recruits are made up of recrutis with different rates) They are integrated...meaning they have male and female recruits (They house seperatly folks...in fact fraternization with the opposite sex will bring harsh repercussions)

800 Divisions are made up of those recruits that have a SPECOP(SPECial OPerations) rate (job specialty).

The rest of the divisons are made up of Recruits with all the different rates.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on January 25, 2012 at 7:39pm

Also, could it have been sent to another family member?

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on January 25, 2012 at 7:38pm

Chips how long has your recruit been gone? He/she is probably just still going through processing. It usually takes about a week for the box to arrive.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on January 25, 2012 at 7:37pm

That is awesome brooklynsmom, my daughter was the same way. I wrote every single day, even Sunday's and sometimes sent 2 letters in one day or a card and a letter. They live for mail call and say hearing their name is like Christmas morning :-) Ask them for any recruits who aren't getting any mail and you can write to them as well. You would be surprised how many don't get any mail at all. It breaks my heart. If you get any names of recruits to write to let us know just don't post the names on the pages. You will have to send them in a private message to any of your friends who would like to write them as well. And when you send questionnaire send an extra one so your recruit can give one to a friend to fill out for their family :-)

Happy Writing everyone.
