Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by Moonbeam on January 25, 2012 at 7:07pm: Hello to everyone! I am a new at all this Navy stuff. I have been reading a bunch on posts on this site as well as the one on FB. I watched videos. So much information to absorb! My son arrived at GL on 1/18/2012 and I received "the box" yesterday. That's about all I know so far. I'm guessing that if he got placed in a division right away, he should be graduating on 3/16, but of course that may change. I haven't read anything about where we should stay and all that yet. We've never been to Chicago area. It's exciting, but I still keep wondering how he is holding up so far. Big change!! Thanks for all the info on here!

Hopefully I can help with your questions regarding the 800 divisions. There will be a discussion posted above for Spec Ops. with basic information and I will be glad to answer any questions and offer support.

I got her box on Monday and then her PIR form came in today. Sure can't wait til I get that phone call in 2 weeks.

Comment by diannep on January 25, 2012 at 4:35pm: NavySoccerMom: Good idea to wait for the form letter with his correct address. The recruiters get the address off of the computer, and sometimes it is wrong. Although those letters eventually get there, it takes longer. So...write those letters, stamp them, and slap on that form letter address once it arrives...and mail them all at once! Your SR will love it!

Our recruiter gave us his address, but I'm worried about it changing and he wasn't aware of it, so I haven't mailed any of them. And I wanted to make sure it's exactly how they want it to be addressed. So happy for you.
