vickie: That doesn't sound right if he is staying in GL. Who told them this? If the RDCs told him, he will be under the authority of the GL base after PIR...so THEY determine his liberty, not RTC. He may miss some liberty due to watches though--but should get most of the weekend daytime. Once he moves over to GL A School base right after PIR, he will be "briefed" on everything before he gets liberty with you.
Rebecca, I LOVE your description of time as "dark thirty in the morning." Made me giggle and think of my Senior Chief grandfather who passed away 22 years ago. I have been thinking about him a lot lately (we were close) with K being the 4th generation enlisted Sailor in our family to go to boot at Great Lakes. I know he is looking down on her and is very proud. Within the next year or so, my son will be there also and Grandpa will do the same then.
I'm hoping a veteran mom can help me out with this question..... I received a letter from my SR yesterday and he said that he'd more than likely only have liberty on Friday afternoon... not Saturday and Sunday!!!!!!! He's staying in GL for his A school and in all the hundreds of posts I've read since this journey began, I've NEVER heard of this..... I hope and pray he's mistaken about this.... help anyone???
Ok I have to ask Sheryl....why are you packing up syrup and pancake mixes?
Good morning navy4moms! I got letters Friday night but have not had time to respond. Thought I would do that today but looked at all the laundry and dirty house and....oh well! I will stay up late tonight and get the letters done! I love getting his letters now if I can get just one more phone call!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!
Good Morning everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday, more prayers for your pup FTLW. I hope the little darling finds her way home :-) You know there was a dog on the news a few days ago who found his way home 6 months after being lost and I am not sure how but that dog ended up clear across the country lol and still made it home :-)
gonavymom: So sorry about your hospitalized pup...oh my. I can understand preparing for the worst, but praying for the best! Hoping that you have that pup home soon, recuperating in your home.
Keep the faith, FTLW! You just never know....dogs are amazing!
I have some catch up reading to do!
Folks,
Thank you all so much…your kind supportive words mean a lot!
I am sorry for the “just a dog” comment…did not mean it in a frivolous way. Ours are definitely family. We have Border Collies…and have competed with our old boys (almost 12 and 13) in Sheepherding trials. A ranch in a farm loving rural State is the retirement goal. One thing at least…I got you to share some wonderful stories about your beloved furry Family Members!
Still no little dog. She does have a collar on with a tag…but she does not go to strangers well. Like I said “she has issues”…we have spent $$$ and much time but there are some things that no amount of sheep have fixed. Basically…she gets “lost” when she steps one foot off of our property. (sigh)
Thank you all again.
