Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Kimmy have you checked with Sarge? He has a cab service but is well know and liked by so many families and has been a huge help. I would trust him way before anyone else and I believe he has better rates than any other cab company. If someone else is arriving late you may be able to have your son share the ride and save some money for him and the other passenger as well.

Comment by sheryl Navy 2 on February 21, 2012 at 11:14am: On leadership positions ... Our youngest son was RPOC at BC last year and it was a lot of extra work he said , but the feeling of pride over his DIv and when he came out with the cutlass it was certainly a wow moment for our family .
This time around our eldest is a section leader .so really looking forward to march 16 ....

Comment by diannep on February 21, 2012 at 10:16am: Micki: If he is a section leader by PIR time, then, yes....he should be in the front. Sometimes they switch out the positions during bootcamp.

By the way, it is such an honor to have these positions during bootcamp and they learn alot...but once bootcamp is over, so is the position. Just a "bootcamp thing" but great experience!
