Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I know you are super proud but I guess you will have to remove the pic because of the name on it. Unless it is a first name and not a last :-)

Comment by JoeyLynn85 on March 13, 2012 at 11:26pm: They all did great on battle stations and then won the captains cup on sat so the rdcs gave them 3 hours of free time on Sunday they could sleep make calls or go on the Internet I talked to my Sa for 2 hours then they had to let another division use the phones so he got on Facebook for an hour!!! It was great we got to catch up a ton and he told me a lot of really funny stories :)

I got my I'm a Sailor call on Friday which seems like a lifetime ago. I'm thinking about all of you still waiting on your call. It's torture and I know you're sitting there everyday with phone in hand. At this point, they are so strong and determined, don't doubt for a minute that they will succeed. Don't be surprised if your sailor sounds exhausted--mine did AND SICK too! UGH!!

We're leaving for Chicago tomorrow and I just wanted to wish everyone lots of calls, letters and safe travels for those attending PIR this week. I know you are as proud as we are about our son's accomplishments. Surviving bootcamp is huge!! Our Sailors are where they belong and they will continue to make us all proud.

On a lighter note, my son is going to look drop dead gorgeous in his uniform!! LOL I am sooooo excited!!! Talk to all of you soon!!
