There is a division 091 up there.
We still need a Division Discussion for 091 and 095...anybody? ;-
I would like to combine the 807 groups as there are duplicate groups...this is only so that you all can meet in one place up there. The best way I know how is to take the least active and combine it with the more active one. Let me know how you feel about this.
096. Robin you created both so I will move the post from the older one to the newer one.
Well said ZachsDad. I had one seasoned mom suggest that the last names were possibly not such an issue on RTC FB as most of the members on there were only on for the duration of BC...while our members often remain on in their Ship groups, rating groups etc...so longer exposure. Makes some sense to me.
Plus, RTC website is Navy monitored and we are self monitored...so it is better to have the rules in place. And... it is practice for the future of our Sailors careers.
Yes, I often go to RTC FB to double check info, which gate to use for PIR, special notes as we had for Christmas Adopt a Sailor and the one they put up about this PIR being large. I think they answer very well too! I also go to the RTC website to check for their official info.
The thing that kept me on here was the fact that I had "veteran" moms that I could connect with and my PIR group felt like my "home" for the eight weeks of BC...much like my SR having a new "home" on his ship at RTC.
BTW, the RDC's do see it and we have numerous stories to verify it. Some just get a "is this your mom", when it is pointed out on a computer and some get IT or other things.
My page on here is only viewable to my friends and I don't live in Elk, Ca!
The downside to the RTC FB page is that many family of SRs ask questions that could be easily answered here with all the info gathered and posted in each PIR group. I routinely send messages to folks and direct them to this site, mainly because you can't mention N4M's in the threads. Members on the RTC FB pages sometimes give inaccurate info ( not RTC of course ). This has to be THE best place to find info and meet others who are in similar situation. I'm not knocking the RTC FB page. I visit often and enjoy the pictures and responses from RTC--amazing how they answer the same question asked several times a day with professionalism.
I'm not sure it's easier to talk on FB.
I agree about last names. I see too often FB members mention their SRs name and I see their last name and wonder if RDCs see that and add a little IT! Doesn't seem to bother RTC though---hmmm....
Just a heads up, ladies: Many on the RTC FB page jump off of this group and get all of their questions answered on RTC FB. That is good, and we check that page too, but sometimes we actually have more info here on this page for some things...like airport visits, MeetNGreets, etc. So it is advised to make sure to stay on both sites if you are joining the FB page.
Demetris: What we N4Moms veterans found is that they can't distribute the mail until the Recruit Mail Petty Officer is trained. Therefore, seems that no one gets mail until the 2nd Sunday they are there. Many ladies on here get the recruiter's address for their SR and write immediately. Then when their SR can finally write, he/she asks why family hasn't written to him/her yet? Freaks out the ladies since some had written almost 2 weeks earlier and they feel the mail is being held from their SRs.
So that is why we tell them that the mail is distributed the first time on that Sunday. Also, we have been informed that there is no mail distribution to the SRs on Sundays after that. But every other day there is mail distribution.
