Ok one more comment before bed. One mom in another group asked if anyone knew what group was in the pics on the RTC facebook page, so I looked. My son is in 3 of the pics! I am so excited,,,It was better than the 3 letters I got today!
that is awesome chaunsmom ;-)
I got my first letter today as well... I was so happy.. My son says it's not that bad.. He said it would be even better if some of the fellows hurry and get serious... he says they have to do a lot of "ITE" because some are still trying to joke around..he says with all the excerise his body is started to change.. I can't wait to see him... He says his voice is even changing.. OH MY!!! C'mon March 16,2011.... He says other than that..he is enjoying it and meeting some really cool people.. I'm happy he is upbeat and is keeping a postive attitude...
I am sure that will happen a lot "lala" Most everyone on here refers to me as simply Lala. I got the name the same way your did. My name is Lora and my niece couldn't say that and it came out Lala, it wasn't long until everyone called me that. My niece is now 12 and I don't recall hearing her ever say my real name lol. Even my 2 step-daughters call me Lala :-)
Many many recruits get their wisdom teeth out during bootcamp. they pull them if they look like they could present any problems at all in the future. They don't want them to have any problems while deployed.
It is so good to hear so many are getting letters. It sure makes you feel better hearing from them. :-)
bahaaaaa! I have to make a correction. The first time I read Dustin's letter, I thought he put the "food is inedible". But when I read it again it said the food is "incredible". My bad! lol
I also got my first letter today!!! I have read it about 100 times. I was a bit concerned with how he would be doing but he says he is doing fine. He likes the food and says its the highlight of his day. He did complain about lack of sleep...he said he was so tired one day he feel asleep while marching. The tone of his letter was upbeat and I feel so much better. I can't wait until PIR.... I'm even more excited!!!!
Hi LalaRibbons! I noticed that. Lala is what all my nieces, nephews, and grandkids call me so I used that thinking it was unique. I read a couple of replies that was meant for you (cuz they just put lala) and I thiought I don't have any idea what they are talking about hahahaha
So, in the mail when I got home was 10 letters to my SR's g friend, 3 for me, 1 for his dad and 1 for his sister. It was great! They were not real long letters but it let me know how he was doing. The funny thing was that the 1 to his dad and my 3 all started out the same "This s--- blows". He didn't mean it in a bad way. He said there is so many things to fold lol. I am sure that was an awakening for him. Anyway, he is not crazy about the food but he says PT is easy for him, so that was good. I could already tell the difference from letter 1 to letter 3 that he was getting used to things and liking it more. He has to get his wisdom teeth out on Tuesday which was strange I thought. He went to the dentist several times before he left to get some things taken care of. They were not causing a problem. Anyway, wanted to share that with all my new friends.
Demetris, thank you so very much for all your posts.... it's wonderful having you here on this website imparting all of your first-hand knowledge! I received my first letter from my SR today and I'm on cloud 9!!! He sounded very upbeat and happy in his letter!!!
That is awesome Demetris, I bet she will have some really good stories for you and probably a lot of questions about how you treated your recruits lol. My daughter was also in the 900 division and I can tell you there was no prouder moment for me, other than her birth, than when I heard her voice singing with the choir. I was totally amazed :-)
Yay for GREAT letter days.
Wow! Congratulations Demetris! Your daughter sounds very determined, motivated, and not afraid of hard work at all. Fabulous!
