Robin - Oh my goodness - hugs & kisses for everyone's boo-boos, AND for you, mom, who has to be master coordinator and enabler for all healing activities.
QMGsmom - you might want to consider that the laptop will "play" dvds and becomes another technology device to manage (haul around) and protect. Also, many folks are going to "downloadable" movies versus physical dvds (a la Netflix or other services). Perhaps you could contribute the "value" of a dvd player to the laptop purchase? OR purchase the laptop bag or another accessory item . . .
QMGsmom: If he is not allowed to have that right away, he can lock it up until he is allowed to have it. He will find out when he transfers over to GL A School what he can/cannot have. He can't have anything until after he moves over there, has liberty with you, and then he can take things back with him to GL A School base.
Guess what? Division 088 won for Trivia Tuesday! They will take the photo this afternoon! Woo-Hoo! I will look for it to post! Congrats!
Oh Robin! Oh my...GIANT HUGS to you and your kiddos!
Travel safe Robin.
Good Morning! Congrats to all the I'm a Sailor calls!!!!!!!! Yah!! I am hoping for mine soon.... :) Maybe while on my way driving tomorrow! ;) We'll see! I haven't been on lately, my son got bit by a dog on sunday... ER visit... then, my 2 year old daughter got her fingers caught in an Elevator at my sons MD appt, she had to be taken via ambulance to CHOP (philly childrens hospital) she is fine, no fractures, just purple swollen fingers... sigh. My son is fine, just a little superficial cut on his chin and black and blue where the dogs nose hit his cheek... he is on meds, which is brutal, he has aspergers. sign again! Still have to finish packing. Leaving SHARP 0600 tomorrow morning to drive up the 14 hour trip... will be the BEST 14 hours i've ever driven! Love to you all! xoxo
YAY for all the new Sailors in our great Navy :-)
**Note: These Sailors are in their Dress Whites as that is when these pics were taken. Yours will be in their Dress Blues.
When you first come into the Hall you will see Sailors on the floor standing next to Division markers. This is where your Division will be standing for PIR. You should sit in the stands in front of the marker. The markers are positioned so that when you sit in the stands your Division is a little bit to the right of you.
Okay...the pic above is right in front of the big garage door that opens to let your Sailors in. If you're sitting in the stands the doors are to the left of you. See the curve? They'll come in in order of their Divisions and march all the way to the other end and make a U-ee and march back and then line up in formation by division...so 097 will be the first closest to the door they came in and then on down the line. The 900 Div is in the middle I believe (they come in after...a space is left for them) I believe the 800 Divisions march in last…but don’t quote me on that!
Now, when I posted this once before Craig said you could ask the Sailors at the markers questions. I can't find the post....ugh! I told him I wish I had known that because it might have been fun!
F'rinstance..."What's the fastest land animal?"
Quick...what movie is that from?!

FTLW - The link you're looking for is here. HERE
Too funny. I'm DEFINITELY going to play around with the Honor Recruit if for no other reason than to embarrass my wife a little bit.
"What's a peanut butter shot? Did it hurt?"
"Can you explain 'Nasty Nine'?"
"Why do sailor uniforms have flaps? What do you call that flap? What do the two stars stand for?"
"Do you mind if I call you Admiral?"
"If oranges are called oranges, why wouldn't you call a banana a yellow?"
