~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Blonde1, my son is in 921 too.  This group is Ship Staff/Honor Guard.  There is a N4M 900's division group here and one on FB too.  They are both pretty helpful.

Ribbon Queen - that is REALLY funny.  Thanks for sharing.  When my daughter was little (even in a car seat) she would talk endlessly. Even before forming words she would say "la la la la la"  So that stuck.  I trust she won't talk too much in div 129 now.

Comment by Blonde1 on February 16, 2014 at 8:22pm

Yes he was.  She says he was crying when he talked to her.  I could tell he had been when I talked to him, he was sniffling :-(

Oh, I;m glad you got the call Blonde1, I hope he was able to reach her <3

I got a call today!!  I needed that!  I haven't gotten the letter yet, but he gave me his address.  He is Ship 02 Div 921.  I really wonder why he is 921.  He doesn't sing or play any instruments.  I could tell he was down.  He had tried to call his fiancé, but she didn't answer.  We talked for a couple of minutes, he asked how things were here.  Then said he didn't know how long he had and wanted to try her again.  At least I have his address now and can send out all the letters I have written!!

lol, When my niece was a baby I would say my name, Lora, to her over and over trying to get her to say it. She was about a year old and when she finally said it it came out Lala and it just stuck. When she was about 6 years old she came in and saw her mom on the phone and asked who she was talking to. When her mom said Lora, she asked who is lora? lol, they all called me Lala and she didn't even know my real name. Now, most of my family calls me Lala, even my step-daughters :)

RIbbon Queen - where did the LaLa come from?  That is my sister's nickname for my daughter!  Funny!

It's good to see some getting calls already. I know it is hard when it wasn't you who got the call but hang in there more calls will come :)

hoosiermamma,

My Sailor daughter loved trash duty because she got to go outside, breathe fresh air, and admire the beautiful, sparkly snow crystals!!  * * *
