N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hello all,
Lori my son is also with Ship 09 Div 129. We've not received a call as of yet either so you're not alone. Don't worry, stay positive and keep your phone by your side :)

Thanks, Freedock and ellen, for clearing that up!  Hmmm....just never knew that!  New things to learn each day!

Arpocmom:  Are you talking of Sarge's MeetandGreet held the night before PIR?  5 to 9 pm....at the Sundance Saloon (closed off to the public....family friendly event!).  You can find it listed under EVENTS to the left of this page, towards the bottom.  Click on the link and you can RSVP there!

Div 921, that won the Captain's Cup is indeed an all male division.  My son is in it.  The picture is really cool.  This was the first glimpse of my son in 60 days.  HooYay.

This 900 division is an all male division. I know because I just posted their Trivia Tuesday picture from the RTC in the 921 division discussion. :)

Since my son left for boot camp, we moved and I just started a new job, so I apologize for my lack of participation.  I have received several letters; our son says he is actually having fun,YAY!  However, we haven't received any recent calls and his last call he said we may not hear from him until we see him at graduation.  I see on the comments that many of you have received calls after battle stations. Should I worry if I don't hear from him?  He is Ship 09 Div 129.  Thanks for your input.

Yes, LovesASailor:  If a sailor is an Honor Guard, there is a special ceremony before PIR for families/those sailors.  You are notified by letter.  I would think you would have received it by now, but you never know with mail service!

I think the 900 divisions are male/female.  Not sure they have an all-male 900 division since it is a performing division and would include both genders, I would think.

Hello Everyone! So excited PIR is this Friday! If your SR receives honors during graduation will the family be notified ahead of time?
Comment by Freedock7 on March 31, 2014 at 10:28am

921 did win the Captain's Cup.  Not sure about it being all male, I am thinking that it may only have 1 or 2 females in it.  From watching PIR live stream, I have only seen 1 female in the rifle corp.
